Owner note (replace this block): this is the most important page on the site for earning Google's trust and your readers' confidence. Rewrite the section below in your real voice — your name, your golf story, your handicap journey, and any genuine experience or credentials. The more real and specific it is, the more both readers and search engines trust everything else on the site.

Why only wedges?

Because that's where the strokes are. Walk any course on a weekend and you'll see golfers spend a fortune chasing distance off the tee, then give it all back with a chunked chip and a three-putt. The scoring zone — roughly everything inside 100 yards — is where rounds are quietly won and lost. It's also the most coachable, most gear-sensitive part of the game. So instead of covering all of golf an inch deep, we go deep on the one thing that'll actually drop your number.

How we make our recommendations

Three rules we don't break:

  • The advice comes before the commission. We earn through affiliate links, but we'll happily tell you the cheaper club is the better buy, or that you don't need a new wedge at all.
  • We tell you who a club is not for. A tour blade is the wrong call for most amateurs, and we'll say it plainly. Honest "skip this" advice is worth more than a hundred glowing reviews.
  • We keep it human. No spec-sheet word salad. Just clear, practical guidance like you'd get from a friend who happens to know wedges cold.

What you'll find here

  • Gear guides — honest, player-type-specific picks so you buy the right wedge once, instead of the wrong one twice.
  • Short-Game School — practical coaching on gapping, distance control, bunkers, and the in-between shots that scare everyone.
  • The Up & Down newsletter — one tip and one honest gear pick a week, plus our free gapping worksheet.
